John Dyess is the Executive Chef at Ringside Steakhouse in Portland. Originally from Vallejo, California, his culinary journey began in his grandmother’s kitchen, learning traditional Sicilian techniques. He later trained at The Culinary Institute Lenôtre in Houston and worked under acclaimed chefs including David Guerrero, Kent Rathbun, and Annie Cuggino. Before becoming Executive Chef, he served as Ringside’s Executive Sous Chef for five years. Known for his commitment to excellence, leadership, and humility, John continually strives to grow as a chef and as a role model for his daughter.
John will guide us through preparing various cuts of beef and demonstrate some vegetable breakdown techniques as well. He’ll wrap up the demo by sharing a taste of a delicious steak dinner with everyone.
