Position Description: STEELPORT Knife Co. is seeking a motivated Marketing professional to join our dynamic small team. The Marketing Manager will plan, coordinate various partners, and execute marketing strategies, tactics, and activities to promote STEELPORT products and services. The ideal candidate is self-driven, organized, and passionate to pave new paths of bringing national awareness to a premium locally handcrafted brand. This role has opportunities for rapid growth and changes to match your interests and strengths.
This role will deliver the following responsibilities through hands-on projects and coordinating activities of the internal team and external agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Execution
- Digital Marketing Management: Manage the company’s website to ensure it is user-friendly and effectively showcases STEELPORT’s products.
- Product Launch and Gifting Strategies: Develop targeted campaigns around new product launches, extensions, and gifting occasions.
- Partnership and Collaboration Management: Identify and establish strategic partnerships with luxury retailers, online influencers, culinary professionals, and affiliate programs that align and broaden the visibility of STEELPORT.
- Customer Engagement and Relationship Management: Develop retention strategies, including loyalty programs and personalized marketing initiatives. Analyze marketing performance metrics to assess campaign effectiveness and optimize future efforts.
- Sales Support: Organization and continuous improvement of online sales. Assets and support for Channel Marketing
- Team Collaboration and Leadership: Grow the team synergies and guide the larger marketing team members and external agencies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in marketing management, preferably in the consumer goods or luxury goods sector.
- Passion to take ownership in a growing local, artisan craftsmanship and premium brand
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in dynamic environments
- Proven experience with digital marketing, SEO, PPC, and social media strategies.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience in brand development and positioning in premium markets.
- Ability to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment and across departments.

Position Description:We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and driven entry-level salesperson to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sales, serving customers, and a desire to learn and grow within our company. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and play a key role in the growth and success of STEELPORT. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Building and maintaining relationships with retail clients.
- Identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities.
- Supporting and helping current retailers grow and best serve our mutual customers.
- Representing the company at trade shows and events.
- Working with Marketing team to define and deliver POS and retailer assets.
- Achieving sales targets and goals.
Requirement/Desired Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven sales experience, either through previous work experience or through extracurricular activities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A passion for the culinary arts and/or kitchen knives is a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for trade shows and events.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, but not required.

Brand Ambassador

Position Description:
As an Event Brand Ambassador, you will be the face of STEELPORT Knife Co. at local markets, trade shows, and retail pop-ups. Your primary responsibility will be to engage with potential customers and share our brand’s story and values. This is a great opportunity to channel your culinary and local maker passion for broader community visibility in a flexible part-time position. Key Responsibilities:
- Represent STEELPORT Knife Co. at assigned events and retail locations.
- Set up and manage event booths and displays.
- Demonstrate product features and benefits to potential customers.
- Engage with the public, answer questions, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Distribute promotional materials and collect customer information for follow-up.
- Sell STEELPORT products to interested customers.
- Track and report on event metrics, including customer interactions and sales.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Team to provide feedback and insights from events.
- Identify and apply to quality future events to attend, with support of Marketing Team.
Qualifications:
- Passion for premium, locally handcrafted products is essential; Special interest in cooking and/or knife making specifically is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and connect with diverse groups of people.
- Strong presentation skills and confidence in public speaking.
- Reliable transportation to travel to various event locations primarily in the greater Portland Metro area, with room to transport full booth setup.
- Ability to lift 40 lb+ and physically able to fully set up the booth without assistance (at times including a 10’x10’ pop-up tent, 6’ folding tables, 10’ backdrop banner, etc.)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
