What's Different about the STEELPORT Paring Knife?

With its unique shape and versatile 4” size, the Paring Knife goes beyond traditional paring tasks, doubling as a petty or utility knife. It excels at intricate work like trimming, peeling, and coring while also tackling small-scale butchering, such as processing game birds or trimming fat. Whether prepping delicate produce like shallots and garlic or handling precision cuts, this multitasker is built to do it all with ease. What’s Different about the STEELPORT Paring Knife? What sets it apart is its ability to be used both in-hand or on the board. The taller, larger-than-average blade and contoured handle create a balance that most paring knives simply can’t match. Unlike most paring knives, whose handles are often scaled down to the point of being uncomfortable for many, the STEELPORT 4” Paring Knife features a larger, more ergonomic handle for a more secure, comfortable grip. Caring for Your Paring Knife

Treat your Paring Knife with the same care as all your other carbon steel knives – hand wash and dry after each use – no dishwasher. When cutting on a surface, always use a cutting board, avoid cutting on plates or countertops. Don’t cut anything you wouldn’t use your teeth on (no bones or frozen food). All blades need to be resharpened eventually, but thanks to STEELPORT’s proprietary differential heat treatment, with normal use the STEELPORT 4” Paring Knife will stay sharp ~3x longer than any other paring knife in your kitchen.. For long-lasting performance, honing your knife while it still has an edge will prevent you from having to sharpen it frequently. We recommend a ceramic hone (like the STEELPORT 12” Oval Ceramic Honing Rod) or a leather strop. When it is time to sharpen, we recommend hand sharpening on a waterstone. If you’d rather leave sharpening to a professional all STEELPORT Knives have Free Sharpening for Life.
